Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
1 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 package (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375*.
Mix butter, sugar, brown sugar and egg with electric mixer until creamy.
Stir in flour, baking soda and salt, dough will be stiff.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Spray a 9 X 13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
Spread cookie dough in baking pan using a spatula and spread even.
Bake for about 25 minutes, until golden brown.
Let cool, then cut into bars.
I haven't made these cookies in a while. I used to make them all the time when I was packing 15 lunches a week! The boys really like them in bars for a change and I can put them in the oven and forget them for a while, unlike regular chocolate chip cookies.
